Everyone is welcome to make the lucky journey to Mecca at any time of the year. To make sure the trip is done in line with Islamic teachings, women must follow certain rules and guidelines.

ree

1. Need for a Mahram

In the past, women had to travel with a Mahram, who was a male provider like a father, brother, or husband. But new rules say that women can do Umrah without a Mahram as long as they journey with a safe group.

2. Clothes that are modest and comfortable

Women don't have to wear a certain Ihram like men do; they can wear any modest, loose-fitting, and see-through clothes.

The clothes should cover the whole body except for the hands and face. During Ihram, you are not allowed to wear gloves or a Niqab (face hood).

3. What is Ihram and Niyyah?

In order for women to enter Ihram at the designated Miqat point, they must say the Talbiyah, which means "Here I am, O Allah, performing Umrah," and say the desire for Umrah.

Hair should be pulled back in a simple way, but not in a fancy way.

4. Tawaf (Waving around the Kaaba)

Tawaf, or walking around the Kaaba, is something that women can do at their own pace. For safety reasons, they should avoid places with a lot of people.

Tawaf can't be done while a woman is menstruating; she has to wait until she is clean to continue.

5. Walking between Safa and Marwa, this is Sa'i.

Women should do Sa'i like men, but they should be humble and not run.

You don't have to hurry between the green lines because it's only for guys.

6. Cutting hair

As a sign that they are no longer in Ihram, women must cut their hair to at least fingertip length after Umrah. They don't shave their heads like guys do.

7. Rules of Behavior

Be humble, patient, and respectful of other travelers.

Safety should come first, so stay in groups and stay away from busy places.

During the trip, you should pray, remember (Dhikr), and ask for forgiveness.

By following these rules, women can do Umrah with devotion and ease, making sure they have a spiritually fulfilling experience while still following Islamic law.
